Lacura Beauty Magic Curl Mascara

A few months ago I wrote this post about the Lacura Beauty concealer pen which is sold in Aldi. As I was doing a food shop with my mum I saw that they did 2 mascaras. I desperately need a new mascara and I love the concealer so I thought I’d try it out. Even if it’s not brilliant it was only £2.50!

As well as the Magic Curl mascara they had a volumizing one. I went for the curl because I’m not the biggest fan of lots of volume on my lashes, I’d much rather have length and curl.

I don’t like the packaging at all, I think it looks really cheap and a bit tacky. I’m quite surprised as the concealer from Lacura comes in a really sleek black tube that looks really fancy. I do love the wand of this though, it is slightly curved which I find helps get all of your eye lashes and I assume it helps curl as well.

Although it is a little clumpy I think it works wonders on length! I would totally recommend this if you are looking for a mascara on a budget because this is worth way more than £2.50! If the volumizing mascara is anything like this one I would recommend that for people who like a bit more volume.

I will definitely be trying more products from Lacura Beauty, let me know if you have and if they live up to my raves!

His & Hers Spring Outfit Inspiration

Recently I heard Bonobos had released their new spring/summer collection. After having a quick browse through their website I said I would love to, they had the kind of things that I would (if I had one) force my boyfriend to buy!

Obviously, as a girl, I don’t have a lot of experience or knowledge when it comes to men’s fashion but I got some photos of outfits that Bonobos had already created. I’m just going to be picking some women’s outfits that would go nicely with the male looks so if you have a willing boy you can match!

The first look is quite casual and the pastel nude tones throughout scream spring! The women’s outfit is from Misguided and, although it looks quite dressy with the stiletto heels they can easily be swapped for a pair of white or nude trainers.

I know this isn’t a whole outfit but as soon as I saw the khaki jacket I knew that the only thing you needed was a matching jacket! This one is from River Island and I think the embroidery makes it so pretty and more feminine, as well as being very in fashion for spring.

This is actually a picture of me in my denim pinafore from last summer but the denim trend has definitely followed into 2017. Double denim has always been a fashion no-no but Bonobos has really styled it well, with different shades of blue almost concealing it!

I left my favourite look till last! I am a massive fan of patterned trousers on women but I never knew men could pull it off as well! There is a huge range of really lovely trousers at Bonobos so if you know of any men looking for some direct them there! Instead of going for a pattern for the women’s I just thought I’d keep to the colour scheme of burgundy and khaki green (they don’t seem like very spring-like colours but you will be seeing a lot of them this spring/summer). This is a very smart-casual outfit, but with the right shoes and accessories could be dressed up or down for different occasions.

Those are 4 his and hers spring outfits but here are my favourite items off the Bonobos website…

Peach Eye Look- Amber Times 9

If you read last week’s post (click here if you didn’t) you will know that I got the Amber Times 9 palette by Mac and because it is so gorgeous I thought I’d show you one of my favourite eye looks using it.

This is a perfect makeup for spring! It has gold tones, pink tones, peach tones. What more could you want?

The shades I used were Kitties and Georgia Peach. In reality Georgia Peach comes out way more pinky peach instead of peachy brown like it does in photos which is disappointing because in real life this is super, super peachy!

Because it is very natural, it is perfect for if you just want to wear eyeshadow but aren’t doing anything or going anywhere. Also, when it gets warmer in spring and summer I don’t like wearing loads of makeup so if you’re like me this would be great because it still looks like you’ve made a bit of an effort!

MAC Amber Times 9 Palette

For my birthday a few weeks ago, my friends very kindly gave me this Mac palette.

It is a very me palette! If you have read any of my eye makeup look posts then you will know these shades are pretty much all I wear; pinks and peaches and golds and browns. All of which are included in this.

Top row: Cozy Grey, Kitties, Georgia Peach    Middle row: Ricepaper, Creative Copper, Cork    Bottom row: Don’t Tell, Aromatic, Pepper Please

This palette has a mixture of shimmers and mattes, making it amazing for travel or if you just can’t be bothered to get any more than 1 palette out!

Cozy Grey is a really nice base colour, brilliant if you just want something to put under shimmery shades. Kitties is probably my favourite shade out of the whole thing, it makes such a nice simple look. Perfect for those days when I want to wear eye shadow but I don’t want to put a lot of effort into it. Georgia Peach goes super well with Kitties, because it is matte it looks really good blended out into the crease to give a really pretty peach look.

Ricepaper is the only shade in this palette that is a bit of a let down, you can barely see it! The pigmentation is pretty awful which is such a shame because it looks really nice in the pan. Creative  Copper is another one I love, it is a really nice tone of gold, not too yellow and not too copper (if you are a fellow gold eyeshadow lover you will know what I mean). Cork is just one of those brown shades you always find yourself reaching for, it goes with everything, it is just a perfect crease colour!

Don’t Tell is really nice, although it is another one that doesn’t have great pigmentation, it looks really nice with Aromatic to make a brown, slightly smoky eye. there isn’t an awful lot to say about Aromatic- it is a great crease colour if you want something slightly darker than Cork. I haven’t used Pepper Please purely because I’m too scared to use eyeshadow that dark! But it looks amazing and I hope I build the courage up soon to have a go!

Overall, I love this palette! I’ve never tried any Mac eyeshadows before so I wasn’t sure what to expect from them but I would recommend them (minus a couple that aren’t very pigmented).

Thankyou to my best friends, Chap, Liz and Gaunty, for buying me this. I love it very much!

Silver New Balance

I’m a bit like a magpie when it comes to all things shiny and metallic so when I saw these silver trainers on the Office website I couldn’t say no!

I admit, they are a definite love or hate thing- you probably all think they’re disgusting! But I absolutely love them! I wear a lot of monochrome (I live in black jeans and white tops) so I thought something like these would make a boring outfit a bit more fun and interesting. Also, they go with everything! They aren’t just a novelty item that clashes with everything which is amazing.

I originally bought these for aesthetic purposes, I didn’t expect them to be so comfy. Because they are proper trainers (as opposed to Converse or Vans) they have a super cushioned sole that supports your foot so they don’t hurt after a while or anything.

I got mine off where they are on sale for £40 so I would get them while you can here.

Even if the silver isn’t for you, I would definitely recommend New Balance as a brand, if their other shoes are like this them they are really comfy and nice to wear. 10/10 would recommend!

Birthday Tag

Today, as you are reading this, is my birthday! So what better post to do than the birthday tag?

Just to clarify, at the time of writing I am 14 years and 360 days old.

1.) When is your birthday?
My birthday is on 4th March

2.) How old are you turning? (Or if your birthday recently passed, how old did you turn?)

I turn 15, not an interesting age at all

3.) What was you’re favourite present that you’ve ever received?

I don’t think I’ve ever had a birthday when I didn’t love my presents so I don’t know what my favourite would be. Probably my white high top converse purely because I wear them so much!

4.) Are you/did you have a party this year? if so what are you doing?

I will have gone out for a meal with my friends yesterday as you’re reading this. But not a proper party.

5.) How do you usually celebrate your birthday?

I usually just go out for a meal with my friends, quite boring but its lovely!

6.) What was the most memorable birthday that you had?

I have the worst memory and I can’t really remember any of my birthdays! That is so bad!

7.) If you had an unlimited amount of money what would you do for your birthday?

I would take a group of my friends to New York and we’d have a massive shopping spree.

8.) What’s your birthday wish list?

Some new clothes, some makeup, I don’t really have a list this year. Next week’s post will probably be a what I got for my birthday so you will all find out what I have been given.

9.) If you only had one birthday left, what would you do for your birthday?

I would throw a huge party with everyone I have ever met in my whole life!

10.) Show a picture from your birthday, preferably an embarrassing one

This is a picture from my 5th birthday party, the theme was pirates and princesses. I think my dad and brother had more fun than I did! Also, ignore the “8 years ago” part, I had to scroll through my dad’s twitter for ages to find this picture.

11.) Do you have any birthday traditions?

No, I donm’t really. I usually go out to eat with my family but I don’t think we’re doing that this year.

12.) What’s your favourite part about your birthday?

Honestly, I love the attention! And the cake, obviously.

13.) What’s one thing that changed a lot since your last birthday?

Apart from my age, the only thing that has changed is my hair length! I think I’m pretty much the same.

14.) Have you ever been thrown a surprise party or have you ever thrown one for someone?

I’ve never had a surprise party or thrown one for somebody but I would love to have someone throw me one! I love surprises!

I hope you enjoyed that and learnt something new about me!

Garnier Simply Essentials Makeup Remover Review

The only thing I’ve ever used to take off my makeup (except wipes) is Johnson’s Baby Lotion. Trust me it works!

But I fancied a change so I picked this up a few weeks ago based entirely on the affordable price, I think it costs about £3.

It is an oil and a water that you have to mix together by shaking it. It says “No Rubbing” and I’ve seen the advert when it just swipes straight off- that is definitely an overstatement. It does work and you only have to put a small amount on the cotton pad but you will obviously have to rub a bit! I don’t know if the statement about removing waterproof makeup is true because I don’t wear waterproof makeup but I feel as if this would work with waterproof mascara.

It works well with both eye and face makeup and doesn’t dry my skin out. It does leave my face feeling really oily (I’m talking as if I just smothered my face in olive oil) for about an hour afterwards which isn’t very pleasant but it does pass and my face feels quite nice and refreshed once the oily-ness has gone!

Overall, I do like this product and would probably repurchase. It works well and doesn’t break the bank in the slightest!
