Welcome to blogmas day 19
One of my favourite things to do at Christmas is bake gingerbread and when my dad showed me these reindeer gingerbread biscuits I just had to make them!
125g brown sugar
4tbsp golden syrup
300g plain flour
1tsp bicarbonate of soda
1tbsp ground ginger
1tsp mixed spice
Icing sugar (I don’t know how much because I just add a bit of icing sugar and a bit of water until I get the right consistency!)
Red food colouring
Melt the butter, sugar and syrup in a saucepan.
Pour the liquid into the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Make a dough and chill in the fridge for about half an hour.
Roll out the dough and cut out gingerbread men. To make the reindeer, it works better if you have a cutter that has a slightly fatter head!
Bake on gas mark 4/350 Fahrenheit/180 Celsius for about 15 minutes or until they are slightly browner.
Leave them to completely cool otherwise the icing will melt when you ice them!
Make the water icing and pipe on antlers, eyes, ears and a mouth if you want (it is easier to look at the photos below than to explain it!)
Dye the icing red an d do Rudolf’s nose.
I’m sure if you make them they will be a lot neater than mine!
