Simple Cleansing Lotion Review

Recently in UK it has been so hot. Which means I have been incredibly sweaty (gross, I know) and wearing makeup probably isn’t the best thing for my skin.

As well as using my usual micellar water to take my makeup off, I have been using the Simple cleansing lotion to make sure my skin is completely rid of any dirt and remaining sweat!

I have absolutely fallen in love with this! It is quite fascinating to see how much dirt is left on your skin after using just your cleanser, especially after being all sweaty. I’ve found that this cleanses your face really nicely but doesn’t dry out your skin- quite the opposite actually, this is so lovely on your face and i find it acts as a moisturizer as well. If you have quite dry skin you might still need a moisturizer but if you have oily/combination skin like me this is great!

I would 100% recommend this if you’re looking for a new cleanser for a good price.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

The only makeup remover I have ever used is the Garnier Simply Essentials Makeup Remover, which I reviewed here. But Garnier Micellar Water is so famous I thought I’d try it out.

I got the version for sensitive and combination skin, I don’t think my skin is sensitive but it is definitely combination. It says it mattifies and I would second that, it completely takes away the oil that I get on my nose and forehead but without drying out my skin.

I really like the fact that it comes in a 400ml bottle which will last forever and you hardly need any on your cotton pad. It also feels as if it is doing something good to your skin. As well as taking makeup off perfectly, it cleanses your face and makes it feel so clean!

I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a good, affordable makeup remover/ cleanser.

1 Eyeshadow Makeup Look

I rarely use more than 2 or 3 eyeshadows when I’m doing my makeup, but I thought I’d make it even quicker and easier and only use 1.

I actually love how it turned out so I thought I’d show it to you.

All you have to do is pack an eyeshadow all over your lid and blend blend blend! Then if you want it a bit smokier and darker you just pack a bit more on and blend. I used the shade Toasted from the naked palette which I think is really perfect for spring because it isn’t too dark or heavy.

Celebrate Mum With Breakfast In Bed

Recently, I was inspired by Leesa to share my Mother’s Day essentials. I know I’m British and we celebrated Mother’s Day in March but I know I have some American followers and also, it is my mum’s birthday soon so if I’m feeling nice she might get breakfast in bed!

withallmylovefromlucy (1)

I think the best way to start Mother’s Day is breakfast in bed. Really cozy with lots of pillows and blankets, make sure your mum has a really good mattress, if your mum is looking to buy a new one tell her to check out a mattress company so your morning won’t be ruined by annoying mattress springs or bumps!

My mum’s go-to breakfast is toast with lots of butter and a little bit of Marmite, I’m a hater of Marmite but my mum is definitely a lover. My mum is also a fan of a nice croissant, I’m not sure if you’re meant to eat croissants with honey or if that is just my mum but she loves it so we’ll let her off! I don’t think my mum could ever have breakfast without a cup of tea (how very British of her) so of course that is an essential. Is it really mother’s day if you don’t give your mum chocolates? The answer to that is no. My mum has a massive sweet tooth so if I’m ever stuck on what to buy her a box of chocolates, especially the fancy ones from Thornton’s, is a life saver!

Feel free to write a post about what you would do for your mum on Mother’s day, or any day you feel like treating your mum, I’d love to see what everybody else comes up with.

I Skirt 3 Ways~ Fountain Pens And Fashion Guest Post

Today’s post is a little bit different from usual. Laura from Fountain Pens And Fashion has written a post that I’m posting on my blog and I have written a post that is going up on her blog, so make sure you go and check that out after reading this. Laura and I have very similar writing styles so if you enjoy mine I’m sure you will love her blog too.

Take it away Laura!

Three days ago, I set myself a challenge.

I had decided to try something that I have seen others challenge themselves to do. I was going to try and wear the same skirt three different ways. It sounded so easy in my head, I mean, how hard can it be to throw together three different outfits?

Challenge accepted?

The skirt I picked was a black and white checkered skater skirt, perfect for the warmer months and comfortable to wear.

Also, just a note before we start, I shot all of my pictures on Day 3 as, I didn’t have time to take the photos on Day one or two! 🙂

Day 1:

unnamed (1)

I woke up late for sixth form and went to go and put my first outfit together. Normally I try on a few outfits before I left for school, but I couldn’t do this. This made me actually appreciate what I had instead of easily discarding clothes that could have created a good look. I decided on this lightweight v neck knitwear top from Primark, I think it was about £6 but I nabbed it in the sale for £3! It wasn’t too bulky, meaning it was easy to tuck in and it didn’t sag around the waistline. I paired it with knee high white socks for a classic Britney vibe.

So far, so good.

Day 2:

unnamed (2)

This was harder than day one due to the fact I never wear something two days in a row unless it’s new! I eventually decided on a more girly look with a long sleeved green top with buttons near the top and tights. These were both from Primark ( I always go into Primark to see my old workmates!), the tights were £3 and the top was around £5. By the lunchtime of day two I was planning my look for day three; something I never do normally, which was very interesting.

Day 3:

unnamed (3)unnamed (4)

I decided to opt for a more edgy vibe on Day 3, choosing to pair my skirt with a leather jacket, knee high kitten heel boots and a plain black vest. Oh and a pout! I felt that this top worked really well and it made me confident, most probably because I had planned it the night before. The leather jacket is from F+F in Tesco’s, which cost about £30 and the plain vest top is New Look. The boots were a charity shop bargain and have featured in my blog already, they were TWO POUNDS!

Things I thought I wouldn’t learn but I have:

  • Be grateful for how much you have – it almost made me want to throw out half my clothes. Almost.
  • It made me realise how you can style a piece of clothing with a small wardrobe.
  • It made me feel confident in what I was wearing as I had put time into my outfit, rather than chucking on the first things I saw.

So, today, fellow friend, I’m setting you the challenge.

Do you wish to accept?
